President Meets with Rising Seychellois Actor Carlos Enersta.

The President of the Republic of Seychelles,Dr. Patrick Herminie, received rising Seychellois actorMr. CarlosEnerstafor a courtesy call at State House this afternoon, ahead of Mr.Enersta'sgraduation next week from theUniversity of Central Lancashire (UCLan)in Preston, England, where he will be awarded aFirst Class Honours Degree in Acting.

President Herminie warmly congratulated Mr.Enerstaon his outstanding academic achievement and commended his dedication, perseverance, and commitment to pursuing excellence in the performing arts. During their meeting, they discussed Mr.Enersta'sinspiring journey, his experiences studying in the United Kingdom over the past three years, and his aspirations as he embarks on his professional acting career.

A key focus of the discussion was the importance of creating opportunities for Seychellois youth with an interest in acting, dance, and the performing arts. The President and Mr.Enerstaexplored ways in which his knowledge, experience, and international exposure could, in the future, contribute to nurturing young Seychellois who aspire to build careers in these creative fields.

Reflecting on his journey, Mr.Enerstashared that his dream of becoming a professional actor truly took shape in 2014, when he began researching opportunities to study acting abroad. He acknowledged that the path was challenging, explaining that while the early stages of university provided a strong foundation, theprogrammebecame increasingly demanding as he progressed towards his final year.

During his studies, Mr.Enerstaparticipated in a student-produced film, which he revealed will soon be available for broadcast on theSeychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC). He also gained valuable experience by auditioning for Shakespeare productions, further strengthening his skills and exposure within the industry.

Mr.Enerstaalso informed that he has signed withRed Door Management, a talent agency that will represent him professionally and assist in securing acting opportunities as he begins his career.

While he does not intend to return to Seychelles immediately after graduation, Mr.Enerstaexplained that he hopes to establish himself within the international acting industry and gain valuable professional experience. Nevertheless, he reaffirmed his commitment to his homeland, noting that Seychelles will always be home and expressing his desire to return in the future to contribute to the country's creative and cultural development.

Concluding the meeting, Mr.Enerstaoffered an inspiring message to the youth of Seychelles:

"If you have a dream, chase it. Stay committed, work hard, and never stop believing in yourself. The journey may not be easy, but with determination, your dreams are possible."

The President thanked Mr.Enerstafor representing Seychelles with distinction on the international stage and wished him every success as he begins the next chapter of his acting career.
