Interior y Policía e Indotel impulsan formación para jóvenes y fortalecen la prevención con nuevo Centro de Prevención en San Cristóbal
Santo Domingo.–The Ministry of the Interior and Police (MIP) and the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) signed two collaboration agreements to strengthen violence prevention actions through the installation of a Prevention and Citizen Security Center in the Moscow neighborhood sector, in San Cristóbal, and the development of training programs aimed at young people and people in vulnerable conditions.
The agreements were signed by the Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, and the president of the Indotel Board of Directors, Guido Gómez Mazara, with the purpose of integrating social prevention, technological training and community support as tools to strengthen citizen security.
During the event, Minister Faride Raful highlighted that security must be addressed from a preventive perspective, with a greater presence of the State in the communities and more opportunities for those who are in a vulnerable situation.
"Security does not begin when the crime occurs. It begins before. It begins with a young person who finds a path before crime finds it; with a community that has somewhere to turn and with a State that reaches the territory before problems appear. Training is also prevention, and prevention is citizen security," he stated.
As part of the agreement, Indotel transfers a property it owns, located in the Barrio Moscow sector, for the installation of a Prevention and Citizen Security Center of the Ministry of the Interior and Police.
From this space, the Ministry will develop a permanent community care program with trained personnel to provide guidance, support and comprehensive care to residents, in addition to coordinating talks, training, training and preventive campaigns aimed at strengthening peaceful coexistence and reducing risk factors.
Likewise, the Interior and Police will be in charge of the adaptation, equipment, maintenance and operation of the center, consolidating the institutional presence in the territory and bringing preventive services closer to the population.
The alliance also promotes training programs in digital skills aimed at young people and people in vulnerable conditions throughout the country, with the aim of facilitating their labor insertion, expanding their educational opportunities and promoting their social inclusion.
As part of this commitment, Indotel will encourage the participation of beneficiaries in its training programs, adapt the contents to the educational level of the participants and promote the development of digital skills that are in high demand in the labor market.
Both institutions will jointly select the beneficiaries and coordinate communication strategies to accompany the implementation of these initiatives in the communities.
For his part, the president of the Indotel Board of Directors, Guido Gómez Mazara, highlighted that technology constitutes a tool for social transformation and stated that this alliance will allow quality training to be brought to young people and people in vulnerable conditions to expand their employment, education and development opportunities.
With these agreements, the Ministry of the Interior and Police strengthens its national prevention strategy, based on the presence of the State, joint work with communities and the creation of opportunities to reduce the factors that generate violence. At the same time, Indotel expands the social reach of its inclusion and technological training programs, consolidating an inter-institutional alliance that is committed to prevention, innovation and the development of safer communities.

Empieza antes. Empieza con un joven que encuentra un camino antes de que lo encuentre el delito; con una comunidad que tiene dónde acudir y con un Estado que llega al territorio antes de que aparezcan los problemas. Formar también es prevenir, y prevenir es hacer seguridad ciudadana”,afirmó. Como parte del acuerdo,el Indotel cede un inmueble de su propiedad, ubicado en el sector Barrio Moscú, para la instalación de un Centro de Prevención y Seguridad Ciudadana del Ministerio de Interior y Policía. Desde este espacio, el Ministerio desarrollará unprograma permanente de atención comunitariacon personal capacitado para brindarorientación, acompañamiento y atención integrala los residentes, además de coordinar charlas, capacitaciones, entrenamientos y campañas preventivas orientadas a fortalecer laconvivencia pacíficay reducir los factores de riesgo. Asimismo, Interior y Policía tendrá a su cargo laadecuación, equipamiento, mantenimiento y operacióndel centro, consolidando la presencia institucional en el territorio y acercando los servicios preventivos a la población. La alianza también impulsa programas de formación en habilidades digitales dirigidos a jóvenes y personas en condición de vulnerabilidad en todo el país, con el objetivo de facilitar suinserción laboral, ampliar susoportunidades educativasy promover suinclusión social. Como parte de este compromiso, el Indotel incentivará la participación de los beneficiarios en susprogramas de capacitación, adaptará los contenidos al nivel educativo de los participantes y promoverá el desarrollo decompetencias digitalesde alta demanda en el mercado laboral. Ambas instituciones seleccionarán de manera conjunta a los beneficiarios y coordinaránestrategias de comunicaciónpara acompañar la implementación de estas iniciativas en las comunidades. Por su parte, el presidente del Consejo Directivo del Indotel, Guido Gómez Mazara, destacó que la tecnología constituye unaherramienta de transformación socialy afirmó que esta alianza permitirá acercarformación de calidada jóvenes y personas en condición de vulnerabilidad para ampliar sus oportunidades deempleo, educación y desarrollo. Con estos acuerdos, el Ministerio de Interior y Policía fortalece suestrategia nacional de prevención,basada en la presencia del Estado, el trabajo conjunto con las comunidades y la creación de oportunidades parareducir los factores que generan violencia. Al mismo tiempo, el Indotel amplía el alcance social de sus programas deinclusión y formación tecnológica, consolidando una alianza interinstitucional que apuesta porla prevención, la innovación y el desarrollode comunidadesmás seguras.
