Damascus, July 2 (SANA)SyrianMinister of Higher Educationand Scientific ResearchMarwan al-Halabiinaugurated two newly upgraded medical units at university hospitals in Damascus on Thursday following their rehabilitation and equipment by the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS).

Al-Halabi opened the Hematology Department atAl-Mouwasat University Hospitalafter it underwent renovation and was equipped with new medical facilities by SAMS.

He also inaugurated a new computed tomography (CT) unit atDamascus Children’s University Hospitalfollowing its rehabilitation and equipment upgrade by the organization.

The projects are aimed at improving diagnostic and treatment services at two of Syria’s main teaching hospitals and enhancing healthcare services provided to patients.

SAMS, a U.S.-based humanitarian medical organization, has supported healthcare projects in Syria through medical assistance, hospital rehabilitation and the provision of medical equipment and training.
