His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received, in his office at Lusail Palace, His Excellency Mr. Steve Witkoff and His Excellency Mr. Jared Kushner, the American envoys.

During the interview, the latest developments in the situation in the region were reviewed, especially the developments in the negotiating track between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the two parties. The current situation in the sisterly Lebanese Republic was also discussed, and the importance of establishing a ceasefire in a way that preserves Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty and stability was also discussed.

His Highness the Emir affirmed the continuation of the State of Qatar, in partnership with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in mediation efforts and its support for all tracks of talks emerging from the Memorandum of Understanding, to reach a comprehensive and sustainable settlement that enhances the security of the region and supports international peace and security.

For their part, the two American envoys expressed their appreciation for the role played by the State of Qatar, in partnership with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in supporting the course of the talks and bringing viewpoints closer, stressing the commitment of the United States of America to continue the negotiating path and strengthen diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive agreement.
