Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Visits Bayt Al-Hikma and Directs the Revitalization of Its Role and the Strengthening of Its Standing ……….. Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi paid an inspection visit today, Wednesday, to Bayt Al-Hikma, ( House of Wisdom ) where he reviewed its current status and its scholarly, intellectual, and cultural role. The Prime Minister affirmed that Bayt Al-Hikma embodies a rich civilizational and intellectual heritage, stressing the importance of giving this institution the attention it deserves, befitting its stature and significance. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi emphasized the importance of restoring Bayt Al-Hikma’s role as a center for intellectual and creative excellence and establishing it as a national and Arab platform for bringing together leading scholars and thinkers through the organization of a major annual conference. The conference would bring together distinguished Iraqi and Arab intellectuals and contribute to identifying the challenges facing the Iraqi state while presenting appropriate visions, solutions, and recommendations. The Prime Minister directed that all necessary resources be provided to revitalize the role of Bayt Al-Hikma and strengthen its standing, reaffirming the government’s commitment to providing the support required to achieve its objectives. He also instructed the relevant ministries and entities to provide the necessary financial and technical support to the institution. For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bayt Al-Hikma, Mr. Naeem Abd Yasser Al-Aboudi, reviewed the institution’s distinguished history and its role over the years in promoting intellectual thought and shaping public opinion, as well as its position as a leading platform for Arab and Islamic culture and thought. At the conclusion of the visit, Prime Minister Al-Zaidi toured the halls and facilities of Bayt Al-Hikma and was briefed on its history and the major milestones it has witnessed since its establishment during the Abbasid era. ………..
