Julián Quiñones gave the hosts the lead in the 22nd minute before Raúl Jiménez doubled the advantage nine minutes later as Mexico secured a comfortable victory.

The win sends Mexico into the Round of 16, where they will face the winner of the Round of 32 match between England and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
