Damascus, July 1 (SANA)One person was killed and 16 others were injured in road accidents and fires that emergency response teams handled across Syria over the past 24 hours, the Syrian Civil Defense said on Wednesday.

The Civil Defensesaid it responded to 14 road accidents, in which one person was killed and 15 civilians were injured. Emergency teams provided first aid at the scene before transferring the injured to hospitals and securing the accident sites.The Civil Defense also responded to 187 fires nationwide, including 33 in agricultural fields and crops and 145 in homes, commercial premises, grasslands, trees, garbage and electrical cables.One civilian was injured in the fires, while the remaining damage was limited to property losses.On Tuesday, 24 people were injured in separate road accidents and fires that prompted emergency responses across several Syrian provinces.
