Supérate concluye la entrega del Bono de Emergencia a más de 3,000 hogares del Gran Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo.-The Superate Social Development Directorate completed the delivery of the Emergency Bonus to 234 families in the municipality of Santo Domingo Norte affected by the heavy rains and floods recorded last April, reaffirming its commitment to Adaptive Social Protection (PSA) aimed at strengthening the resilience of vulnerable families and communities in the face of the effects of climate events.
The benefited families received a contribution of RD 7,000 each, equivalent to RD 1,638,000 which, added to the RD 22,729,000 given to a total of 1,766 households in the municipalities of Los Alcarrizos, Pedro Brand, Santo Domingo Oeste, and to 1,481 families in the Los Ríos sector, National District, represent a total investment of RD 24,367,000 to support the homes in conditions of vulnerability and climate risk.
At the event, the Deputy Director of Operations of Supérate, Juan Herrera, reported that this delivery completes the distribution of the Emergency Bonus to 3,481 households in Greater Santo Domingo, strengthening the commitment of the Dominican Government to accompany families in vulnerable situations, offering timely support that contributes to their well-being, recovery and stability in the face of the challenges they face.
"We believe in a policy of anticipation that protects families. And I want to highlight that, in Santo Domingo Norte, Supérate protects more than 82,000 families that receive the Aliméntate subsidies, Bono Gas, Bono Luz, in addition to incentives for school permanence Avanza y Learn, and the social subsidy from the National Fund for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities," he stressed.
Present at the event, the mayor of Santo Domingo Norte, Betty Gerónimo, highlighted that this economic support is part of a joint effort by the government headed by President Luis Abinader to bring direct solutions to the communities and families that need it most.
Likewise, Gerónimo valued the impact of social policy in the demarcation, pointing out that the objective from now on is to continue joining efforts to strengthen social protection in the municipality. "Here, Supérate has grown every day. That card that many previously wondered where to find, today is reaching where it did not reach before, as a sign that we are giving answers to our people," he pointed out.
The delivery of the Emergency Bonus was carried out in the Santo Domingo Norte City Hall and with the purpose of expediting the exchange process, mobile units of the Reserve Bank were installed, allowing beneficiary families to access their resources quickly and safely.
The selection of households was carried out based on the surveys and data validation processes carried out by the Single Beneficiary System (Siuben), considering the level of impact identified through the Basic Emergency File (FIBE), to guarantee that this support reaches the most vulnerable households in a timely manner.
The delivery ceremony was attended by the governor of the Santo Domingo province, Lucrecia Santana, representatives of neighborhood associations and the body of councilors of Santo Domingo Norte.
The Emergency Bonus is part of the Dominican Government's Adaptive Social Protection strategy, designed to offer timely responses to the most vulnerable households and strengthen their recovery capacity in the face of crises, emergencies and other contingencies.
