U.N. observers visit village in southern Syria following Israeli shelling
Daraa, June 30 (SANA)– A delegation from the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) visited the village of Abdin in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa province on Tuesday to gather testimonies from residents about recent Israeli attacks and developments in the area.
According to SANA’s reporter inDaraa, the U.N. delegation asked residents about Israeli military incursions into the area, the shelling that targeted the village and the fear and panic experienced by civilians over the past two days.
On Monday, Israeli forces shelled Abdin and its surrounding areas with artillery and helicopter gunfire, prompting limited displacement of residents to nearby towns and villages.
