OIC strongly condemns repeated Israeli incursions and violations of Syrian sovereignty

Jeddah, June 30 (SANA)The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Tuesday, in the strongest terms, the repeated aggressions and incursions by the Israeli occupation into Syrian territory, affirming that they constitute a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and a blunt breach of international law and international humanitarian law.

In an official statement, the General Secretariat expressed its denunciation of the occupation’s continuous assaults onSyriaand its attempts to destabilize the country’s security and stability while undermining broader efforts to establish peace across the region. TheOICreaffirmed its absolute solidarity with Syria, supporting its sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

Furthermore, the General Secretariat called upon the international community to take immediate action to halt these hostilities and ensure strict adherence to the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement to safeguard Syrian sovereignty and territorial unity.

The condemnation follows an incursion by Israeli occupation forces on Sunday, June 28, into the village of Abidin in the western countryside of Daraa. The military unit targeted the village and its surroundings with helicopter machine guns and artillery shells, forcing several local residents to flee their homes toward neighboring villages.

Syria has condemned these Israeli aggressions in the strongest terms, emphasizing that their continuation undermines efforts aimed at consolidating regional security, exacerbates civilian suffering, and threatens further escalation and tension. Damascus demanded that the United Nations and the international community shoulder their responsibilities to put an end to these violations and guarantee total respect for the1974 Disengagement Agreement.
