Ex-Fourth Division member arrested over crimes against civilians

Damascus, June 29 (SANA)Syrian Internal Security Forces in Damascus Countryside, southern Syria, arrested Adnan Riyad Hamada, in a carefully planned operation following extensive surveillance and intelligence gathering that identified his location, theInterior Ministryannounced on Monday.

The ministry said in a post on Telegram that investigative records show that Hamada served in the notorious ousted regime’s Fourth Division and was involved in violations against civilians from the battles in Eastern Ghouta through the liberation battles. He is also accused of being responsible for the arrest of a number of civilians.

According to the ministry, after the liberation Hamada joined an armed group involved in armed robbery and theft before going out of sight.

The Interior Ministry continues operations nationwide in pursuit of all elements, officers, and figures associated with the ousted regime who are credibly implicated in war crimes or gross violations against the Syrian people, ensuring that no individual escapes punishment under the rule of law.
