UAE, Egypt condemn Israeli violations, reaffirms support for Syria

Cairo, June 29 (SANA)The Arab Republic ofEgyptcondemned on Monday, the Israeli military aggressions against the territories of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Cairo characterized the cross-border strikes as an unambiguous and flagrantviolationof Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity, directly breaching the fundamental rules of international law and the United Nations Charter.

In an official statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cairo affirmed its total, unyielding rejection of any hostile incursions that damage the sovereignty of Arab nations or threaten their territorial bounds. The Egyptian government renewed its absolute solidarity with the state of Syria, backing all measures taken by Damascus to preserve national unity and independence.

Israeli occupation forces on Sunday advanced into the village of Abidin in the western countryside of Daraa, where they targeted the village and its surroundings with helicopter machine-gun fire and artillery shells, forcing some residents to flee their homes to nearby villages.

The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, reaffirmed its categorical rejection of violations of Syria’s sovereignty and threats to its security and stability.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the continued Israeli incursions into Syrian territory constitute “a flagrant violation of international law and of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Syria and Israel, which Israel is obliged to respect.”

The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s longstanding position in support of Syria’s stability and sovereignty over its entire territory, expressing solidarity with the Syrian people and backing efforts aimed at fulfilling their aspirations for security, peace, a dignified life, peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.

The statement concluded by calling the international community to take immediate action to halt the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and prevent further escalation that could heighten regional tensions and threaten regional and international peace and security.
