SNS alcanza las 300 camas de intervención en crisis con apertura de nueva Unidad de Salud Mental en La Vega
La Vega.-This Friday, the National Health Service (SNS) reached 300 crisis intervention beds in the Public Health Services Network, with the inauguration of the new Mental Health Unit of the Dra. Armida García Municipal Hospital, in the province of La Vega.
During the event, the executive director of the SNS, Dr. Julio Landrón, highlighted that this achievement represents an important advance in strengthening mental health care and is part of the commitment assumed by President Luis Abinader to enable 500 crisis intervention beds before the end of this year.
"Mental health is a priority for this Government. Today we reached 300 crisis intervention beds, a significant step to guarantee specialized, dignified and timely care to those facing a mental health condition," said Landrón.
The head of the SNS explained that these units offer specialized care to patients going through a mental health crisis, through multidisciplinary teams made up of psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff and other professionals, who work to stabilize the patient and promote their integration into the family and social environment.
Likewise, he highlighted the sustained growth of the Public Network in this area and reaffirmed the institutional commitment to continue expanding these services for the benefit of the population.
Landrón recognized the work of the person in charge of the Mental Health Unit of the SNS, Marisol Taveras, as well as the commitment of the hospital director, Dr. Milagros García, as well as the entire healthcare team, for adapting the spaces under criteria of safety, quality and humanization.
Likewise, he urged the staff of the new unit to maintain patient-centered care, quality, warmth and respect for human dignity.
The center's psychiatrist, Lourdes del Orbe Muñoz, participated in the activity; medical, nursing and administrative staff of the hospital, who accompanied the opening ceremony.
As part of his agenda in the province, the director of the SNS toured the Emergency area of the Dra. Armida García Municipal Hospital to verify the operation of the services, the operating conditions of the center and the quality of care that users receive.
During the visit, he congratulated Dr. Milagros García and all the hospital staff for the good condition of the facilities, the organization, the cleanliness and the commitment demonstrated to the continuous improvement of the health services offered to the population.

El titular del SNS explicó que estas unidades ofrecenatención especializada a pacientes que atraviesan una crisis de salud mental,mediante equipos multidisciplinarios integrados por psiquiatras, psicólogos, personal de enfermería y otros profesionales, quienes trabajan para estabilizar al paciente y favorecer sureintegración al entorno familiar y social. Asimismo, resaltó elcrecimientosostenido de la Red Públicaen esta área yreafirmó el compromiso institucional de continuar ampliando estos servicios en beneficio de la población. Landrón reconoció el trabajo de la encargada de la Unidad de Salud Mental del SNS,Marisol Taveras, así como el compromiso de la directora del hospital, doctoraMilagros García, así como de todo el equipo asistencial, por adecuar los espacios bajo criterios deseguridad, calidad y humanización. De igual forma, exhortó al personal de la nueva unidad a mantener una atención centrada en el paciente, concalidad, calidez y respeto a la dignidad humana. En la actividad participaron la psiquiatra del centro,Lourdes del Orbe Muñoz; personal médico, de enfermería y administrativo del hospital, quienes acompañaron el acto de inauguración. Como parte de su agenda en la provincia, el director del SNSrecorrió el área de Emergenciadel Hospital Municipal Dra. Armida García para verificar el funcionamiento de los servicios, las condiciones operativas del centro y la calidad de la atención que reciben los usuarios. Durante la visita,felicitóa la doctora Milagros García y a todo el personal del hospital por el buen estado de las instalaciones, la organización, la limpieza y el compromiso demostrado con lamejora continua de los servicios de salud que se ofrecen a la población.
