Ministro de Educación encabeza foro sectorial del Minerd en el marco de la Consulta Nacional para el Futuro de la Educación Dominicana
Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, headed this Monday the sectoral forum of the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (Minerd), developed as part of the National Consultation for the Future of Education, an initiative promoted by President Luis Abinader through Decree 309-26 to build, together with society, a proposal for the comprehensive transformation of the educational system.
The minister stated that the main objective of the day is to listen to those who know the system from its daily operation, highlighting that no reform can be built without the experience of those who make it possible every day.
"From the beginning of this consultation we assumed a very clear commitment: to open an authentic dialogue. We do not come to present previously drawn conclusions or to ask for support for decisions already taken.
We are building a proposal and we want this process to incorporate the knowledge, experience and vision of those who are part of the educational system,” said the minister.
Likewise, De Camps maintained that the forum represents a key space within the national consultation, bringing together directors, technicians and public servants who permanently accompany the educational centers and participate in the implementation of the policies of the pre-university system.
Likewise, he pointed out that the country faces the challenge of building an educational system capable of responding to the demands of national development and preparing new generations for the challenges of the future.
"The transformation of Dominican education will only be possible if we are able to build it together," stated De Camps, motivating attendees to participate with openness, with a constructive spirit and with the confidence that each proposal will be heard and valued.
The head of the educational portfolio recalled that, in recent weeks, the consultation has visited different regions of the country to listen to teachers, students, families, university authorities, representatives of the productive sector and civil society organizations. He pointed out that this forum is of special importance because it brings together public servants responsible for executing educational policies on a daily basis.
During the day, the Deputy Minister of Technical and Pedagogical Services, Ancell Scheker, presented the methodology for the forum's work and explained the general guidelines of the process, the organization of the work tables and the criteria that guided the formulation of proposals by the participants.
Scheker was also in charge of the methodological guidelines to guarantee an orderly and representative participation of the different institutional profiles, with the aim of facilitating that the contributions collected during the meeting contribute to the national process of construction of the new educational policy.
For his part, the Vice Minister of Supervision, Evaluation and Control of Educational Quality, Oscar Amargós, made a synthesis of the main contributions that emerged from the work tables and thanked the public servants of the educational portfolio and other actors in the system for their participation.
In addition, Amargós highlighted that the proposals compiled during the forum will become part of the systematization process of the consultation, to strengthen the construction of a reform based on the experience of those who execute educational policies daily and know first-hand the needs of the system.
The National Consultation for the Future of Dominican Education is a joint effort of the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (Minerd), the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mescyt), the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) and the National Institute of Professional Technical Training (Infotep).
The four institutions develop regional and sectoral forums in different parts of the country to collect proposals that will serve as a basis for the draft of a new Comprehensive Education Law.
The contributions raised in this forum will be integrated into the process of constructing a draft law, with the purpose of strengthening an educational model more aligned with the present and future needs of the Dominican Republic.

Igualmente, De Camps sostuvo que el foro representa unespacio clavedentro de la consulta nacional, al reunir adirectores, técnicos y servidores públicosque acompañan permanentemente a los centros educativos y participan en la implementación de las políticas del sistema preuniversitario. Asimismo, señaló que el país enfrenta elretode construir unsistema educativo capaz de responder a las demandas del desarrollo nacionaly preparar a las nuevas generaciones para los desafíos del futuro. "La transformación de la educación dominicana solo será posible si somos capaces de construirla entre todos",afirmó De Camps, al motivar a los asistentes a participar con apertura, con espíritu constructivo y con la confianza de que cada propuesta será escuchada y valorada. El titular de la cartera educativa recordó que, durante las últimas semanas,la consulta ha recorrido distintas regiones del paíspara escuchar a docentes, estudiantes, familias, autoridades universitarias, representantes del sector productivo y organizaciones de la sociedad civil. Señaló que este foro reviste unaimportancia especialporque reúne a los servidores públicos responsables de ejecutar diariamente las políticas educativas. Durante la jornada, la viceministra de Servicios Técnicos y Pedagógicos,Ancell Scheker, presentó lametodologíapara los trabajos del foro y explicó loslineamientos generalesdel proceso, la organización de lasmesas de trabajoy los criterios que guiaron laformulación de propuestaspor parte de los participantes. Scheker también tuvo a su cargo las orientaciones metodológicas para garantizar unaparticipación ordenada y representativa de los distintos perfiles institucionales, con el objetivo de facilitar que los aportes recogidos durante el encuentro contribuyan al proceso nacional de construcción de la nueva política educativa. De su lado, el viceministro de Supervisión, Evaluación y Control de la Calidad Educativa,Oscar Amargós, realizó unasíntesis de los principales aportessurgidos de las mesas de trabajo y agradeció la participación de los servidores públicos de la cartera educativa y otros actores del sistema. Además, Amargós destacó que laspropuestas recopiladasdurante el foro pasarán a formar parte del proceso desistematización de la consulta, para fortalecer la construcción de una reforma sustentada en la experiencia de quienes ejecutan diariamente las políticas educativas y conocen de primera mano las necesidades del sistema. La Consulta Nacional para el Futuro de la Educación Dominicana es un esfuerzo conjunto del Ministerio de Educación de la República Dominicana(Minerd), el Ministerio de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología(Mescyt), el Ministerio de Administración Pública(MAP)y el Instituto Nacional de Formación Técnico Profesional(Infotep). Las cuatro instituciones desarrollanforos regionales y sectoriales en distintos puntos del paíspara recoger propuestas que servirán de base alanteproyecto de una nueva Ley de Educación Integral. Los aportes levantados en este foro serán integrados al proceso de construcción de un anteproyecto de ley, con el propósito de fortalecerun modelo educativo más alineado con las necesidades presentes y futurasde la República Dominicana.
