Contraloría inicia en Santiago primera socialización por región con representantes de las UAI
Santiago.- The Comptroller General of the Republic (CGR) began in this province the first meeting per region with representatives of the Internal Audit Units (IAI) that operate in public institutions in this town, with the objective of socializing the new internal control reporting model implemented as a result of the restructuring of the auditing, monitoring and support processes in State entities.
The Comptroller General of the Republic, Geraldo Espinosa, expressed his satisfaction with the holding of the meeting, considering that it constitutes an ideal space for rapprochement with a view to strengthening the commitment and making the work more efficient between the Comptroller's Office and its Internal Audit Units.
“We want Santiago and the entire Northern region to feel the support, presence and work mission of the Comptroller General of the Republic,” said Espinosa, highlighting the importance of continuing to strengthen institutional coordination throughout the national territory.
The comptroller reported that the institution is working on creating a small regional headquarters in Santiago, with the purpose of better coordinating work and achieving greater interaction between the central headquarters, the regional headquarters and the different Internal Audit Units.
Espinosa thanked the commitment, responsibility, discipline and ethics with which the representatives of the UAI carry out their functions, while highlighting the value of the work they perform to guarantee more transparent, efficient public management oriented to national well-being.
For his part, the Deputy Comptroller General of the Republic, Cecilio Disla, highlighted that this meeting is part of the institutional vision of strengthening the work of the Internal Audit Units, as fundamental bodies to promote transparency, efficiency and compliance with processes in public entities.
Likewise, he highlighted that the Comptroller's Office continues to promote actions aimed at raising the quality of internal control, through greater proximity with the technical teams that represent the institution in the different State agencies.
In that same order, the director of the Internal Audit Units, Francisco Peguero, explained that the new internal control reporting model will allow standardizing processes, improving the quality of results and strengthening the technical support provided by the Comptroller's Office through the UAI.
He also indicated that this restructuring process seeks to provide the units with clearer, more timely and effective tools to identify opportunities for improvement, contribute to risk prevention and add value to public management.
Representatives of nine Government Internal Audit Units of the Santiago province, belonging to the health, water, electric energy and education sectors, participated in the activity that was carried out at the facilities of the Santiago Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (Coraasan).

El contralor informó que la institución trabaja en lacreación de una pequeña regional con sede en Santiago, con el propósito de coordinar mejor los trabajos y lograr unamayor interacciónentre la sede central, la regional y las distintas Unidades de Auditoría Interna. Espinosaagradeció el compromiso, la responsabilidad, la disciplina y la éticacon que los representantes de las UAI realizan sus funciones, al tiempo que resaltó el valor del trabajo que desempeñan para garantizar unagestión pública más transparente, eficiente y orientada al bienestar nacional. De su lado, el subcontralor general de la República,Cecilio Disla,destacó que este encuentro forma parte de la visión institucional defortalecer el trabajo de las Unidades de Auditoría Interna, como órganos fundamentales para promover la transparencia, la eficiencia y el cumplimiento de los procesos en las entidades públicas. Asimismo, resaltó que la Contraloría continúa impulsando acciones orientadas a elevar lacalidad del control interno, mediante unamayor cercanía con los equipos técnicosque representan a la institución en los distintos organismos del Estado. En ese mismo orden, el director de las Unidades de Auditoría Interna,Francisco Peguero, explicó que el nuevo modelo de informe de control interno permitirá estandarizar los procesos, mejorar la calidad de los resultados y fortalecer el acompañamiento técnico que realiza la Contraloría a través de las UAI. Indicó, además, que este proceso de reestructuración busca dotar a las unidades deherramientas más claras, oportunas y efectivaspara identificar oportunidades de mejora, contribuir a laprevenciónde riesgos y agregarvalora la gestión pública. En la actividad que se llevó a cabo en las instalaciones de la Corporación de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Santiago (Coraasan) participaronrepresentantes de nueve Unidades de Auditoría Interna Gubernamentalde la provincia Santiago, pertenecientes a los sectores de salud, agua, energía eléctrica y educación.
