ITLA e Ideice firman convenio para fortalecer la investigación educativa, el desarrollo tecnológico y las oportunidades de formación
Santo Domingo.- The Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) and the Dominican Institute for Evaluation and Research of Educational Quality (Ideice) signed an interinstitutional framework agreement aimed at promoting research, innovation and strengthening capabilities through digital transformation initiatives and applied training.
The agreement was signed by the rector of ITLA, Eng.Jimmy Rosario Bernard, and the executive director of Ideice, Dr.Jesús Antonio Andújar Avilés, which reaffirms the commitment of both institutions to technological development, the generation of knowledge and inter-institutional collaboration.
The rector of ITLA, Eng. Jimmy Rosario Bernard, highlighted that the collaboration between both institutions will allow the integration of scientific knowledge and technological capabilities for the benefit of the national educational system.
"ITLA conceives innovation as a tool to transform education and generate impact solutions for the country. This agreement with Ideice strengthens the articulation between educational research, technological innovation and the training of highly specialized talent, creating opportunities for our students to participate in projects that contribute to the strengthening of the Dominican educational system and the construction of public policies based on evidence," said Rosario Bernard.
For his part, the executive director of Ideice, Dr. Jesús Antonio Andújar Avilés, stated that this alliance will facilitate a greater amount of data, as well as the generation of reports with greater scientific support aimed at the design and reorientation of educational policies that will affect the quality of the sector.
“As Ideice, under this agreement we commit, through our programs and projects, to continue contributing to higher quality and comprehensive education, which responds to the developments and perspectives of the 21st century,” pointed out Andújar Avilés.
As part of the strategic axes of the agreement, both institutions will work on strengthening the institutional repository of Ideice through the incorporation of artificial intelligence tools to optimize access, organization and analysis of scientific and academic information, seeking to promote evidence-based management and the use of the knowledge generated.
Likewise, the agreement contemplates the development of an internship program aimed at strengthening professional and technical skills, creating opportunities for ITLA students to participate in training experiences linked to research, innovation and institutional development processes.
The alliance also establishes lines of work aimed at promoting institutional interoperability, the exchange of information and the design of quality indicator systems that contribute to the strengthening of the Dominican educational system.
Those in charge of the mission areas were present at Ideice: Adrián Gutiérrez, from Research; Noel Rodríguez, from Evaluation of National Programs; Omar Pérez, from International Studies; and Lucía Castro Araújo, of Scientific Dissemination. Likewise, the heads of the strategic areas: Ysabel Melenciano, of Information and Communication Technology, and Rudy Correa, of the Legal Division. Also attending were Michael Borelli, legal analyst; Coral Vargas, evaluator; Vickiana Valenzuela, teacher; and other representatives of administrative areas.
Present on behalf of ITLA were Pedro Pablo Castro, academic vice-rector; Juan Matos, vice-rector of Extension and Social Development; Eduardo de los Santos, administrative and financial vice-rector; Fabricio Cabrera, academic advisor, and María Mercedes Parra, director of Planning and Development.

Por su parte, el director ejecutivo del Ideice, Dr. Jesús Antonio Andújar Avilés, manifestó que esta alianza facilitará unamayor cantidad de datos, así como lageneración de informes con mayor sustento científicoorientados al diseño y la reorientación de políticas educativas que incidirán en la calidad del sector. “Como Ideice, bajo este acuerdo nos comprometemos, a través de nuestros programas y proyectos, a seguir contribuyendo a una educación de mayor calidad e integral, que responda a las novedades y perspectivas del siglo XXI”,puntualizó Andújar Avilés. Como parte de losejes estratégicosdel acuerdo, ambas instituciones trabajarán en elfortalecimiento del repositorio institucionaldel Ideice mediante la incorporación deherramientas de inteligencia artificialpara optimizar el acceso, la organización y el análisis de la información científica y académica, en busca de favorecer unagestión basada en evidenciay en elaprovechamiento del conocimiento generado. Asimismo, el convenio contempla el desarrollo de unprograma de pasantíasorientado a fortalecer competencias profesionales y técnicas, creandooportunidades para que estudiantes del ITLAparticipen en experiencias formativas vinculadas a procesos de investigación, innovación y desarrollo institucional. La alianza también establecelíneas de trabajoorientadas a promover lainteroperabilidad institucional, el intercambio de información y el diseño de sistemas deindicadores de calidadque contribuyan al fortalecimiento del sistema educativo dominicano.
