República Dominicana fortalece su desarrollo con inversiones en deporte, bienestar y cooperación internacional
Santo Domingo.- The government of President Luis Abinader continued to develop initiatives aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure, expanding legal security for thousands of families, consolidating advances in public health, and consolidating the Dominican Republic's commitment to international cooperation.
This was highlighted in his weekly summary by the director of the Directorate of Government Strategy and Communication (Diecom), Félix Reyna, when presenting a balance of the main actions carried out by the Government in recent days in matters of sports, qualifications, health and international cooperation.
More opportunities for families
Reyna highlighted that President Luis Abinader inaugurated the renovated Banreservas Virgilio Travieso Soto Arena, considered one of the most modern sports facilities in the Caribbean, prepared to host major sporting, cultural and entertainment events, which strengthens the national infrastructure for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 and expands the spaces for the development of sports and recreation.
Likewise, he noted that more than 4,000 people from Villa Linda, Palmarejo and Pantoja received replacement property titles, an action that provides greater legal security to families, protects their assets and opens up new opportunities for economic and social development.
Health and international solidarity
In terms of health, the director of Diecom highlighted that the Ministry of Public Health reported a reduction in maternal and infant mortality, as well as a low incidence of diseases under epidemiological surveillance, results that reflect the strengthening of public policies aimed at protecting the life and well-being of the population.
Reyna also highlighted the solidarity response of the Dominican Republic to the emergency caused by the earthquakes in Venezuela, by sending a specialized search and rescue team to support humanitarian efforts, reaffirming the country's commitment to international cooperation and assistance to nations facing disaster situations.
