Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi Receives the Pakistani President’s Special Envoy ………….. Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received today, Monday, the Special Envoy of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, who conveyed the greetings and congratulations of President Asif Ali Zardari on the formation of the new government and delivered an official invitation for the Prime Minister to visit Islamabad. The meeting discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand it across various sectors, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, agriculture, and the facilitation of Pakistani pilgrims traveling to Iraq, in a manner that serves the shared interests of the two peoples and supports development and prosperity. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi reaffirmed Iraq’s support for efforts aimed at promoting regional stability and shielding the region and its peoples from the consequences of escalation. He also commended Pakistan’s role in facilitating the memorandum of understanding and de-escalation agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, which brought an end to the war and helped advance regional security and peace. For his part, Senator Mandviwalla reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening relations with Iraq across various sectors and vital fields, praising the positive steps Iraq has taken to reinforce regional and international security and stability.
