Syria participates in Hamburg Sustainability Conference for first time

Hamburg, June 29 (SANA)Syria is taking part in theHamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) 2026for the first time, with Minister of Social Affairs and LaborHind Kabawatrepresenting the country at the international gathering focused on sustainable development and global cooperation.

The conference brings together world leaders, policymakers, representatives of international organizations and the private sector. Among those attending are German PresidentFrank-Walter Steinmeierand German Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Svenja Schulze.

Organizers say the conference aims to promote international cooperation, multilateral partnerships and investment in sustainable development while advancing the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event also seeks to strengthen collaboration between governments, international organizations and the private sector to support innovative and scalable development initiatives.

This year’s conference focuses on improving international and cross-sector cooperation, particularly in times of global disruption. Participants are discussing ways to build new partnerships, mobilize investment and translate international commitments into practical development projects.
