Supérate entrega Bono de Emergencia a más de 1,400 familias afectadas por las lluvias en el Distrito Naciona
Santo Domingo.- With the aim of strengthening the resilience of vulnerable households in the face of crisis situations and climate events, the Superate Social Development Directorate continues with the delivery of the Emergency Bonus to 1,481 families in the National District, affected by the heavy rains and floods recorded last April.
The beneficiary families received a contribution of RD 7,000 per household, which represents a total investment of RD 10,367,000 intended to contribute to the recovery of households affected by the floods.
The general director of Supérate, Mayra Jiménez, explained that this Emergency Bonus has the purpose of complementing the support provided by the government headed by President Luis Abinader, in coordination with the different institutions of the State and the Mayor's Office of the National District, to the families affected by the torrential rains that caused flooding and material damage to families in the National District and other districts that have also received the support of this government.
"Emergency Bonuses are additional protection against climate contingencies that no one expects, but to which the State has the duty to respond. For many families, this Emergency Bonus represents the possibility of starting over. We believe that social protection must be comprehensive, with the aim of accompanying people in the moments of greatest vulnerability," said Jiménez.
For her part, the mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, appreciated that the delivery of the Emergency Bonus represents relief for the affected families, after remembering that on numerous occasions the institutions have met in the Los Ríos sector, to address the needs of homes affected by atmospheric phenomena.
"Today we are here to share good news and accompany you in a moment of hope. Our commitment is to continue by the people's side, because we do not leave anyone behind in moments of sadness and difficulty," said the mayor.
Supérate maintains extensive social protection coverage in the National District, where 112,392 families, including 3,364 households in the Los Ríos sector, receive economic support through programs such as Aliméntate, Bonoluz, Bonogás, Avanza, Learn and the National Fund for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities, contributing to the well-being and development of thousands of households.
The delivery of the Emergency Bonus was carried out at the Professor Germán Martínez High School, located in the Los Ríos sector, National District, where mobile units of the Reserve Bank were enabled to facilitate the exchange process in an agile and safe manner.
This delivery continues the one carried out on Friday in Greater Santo Domingo to 1,776 families from the municipalities of Los Alcarrizos, Santo Domingo Oeste and Pedro Brand.
Likewise, in Santo Domingo Norte, the delivery of the Emergency Bonus to beneficiary families will take place next week.
The beneficiary families are selected based on the surveys and validation processes of the Single Beneficiary System (Siuben), taking as reference the Basic Emergency File (FIBE), with the purpose of guaranteeing that assistance reaches the households with the highest level of affectation and vulnerability.
The Emergency Bonus is part of the Adaptive Social Protection (PSA) policy of the Dominican Government, designed to offer timely responses to households in situations of vulnerability to emergencies, natural disasters and unforeseen contingencies.

Creemos que la protección social debe ser integral, con esa mirada de acompañar a las personas en los momentos de mayor vulnerabilidad",expresó Jiménez. De su lado, la alcaldesa del Distrito Nacional,Carolina Mejía, valoró que la entrega del Bono de Emergencia represente unalivio para las familias afectadas, tras recordar que en numerosas ocasiones las instituciones se han reunido en el sector Los Ríos, para atender las necesidades de los hogares afectados porfenómenos atmosféricos.
