Caasd inicia intervención integral del drenaje sanitario en Villas Agrícolas, Villa Juana, Villa Francisca y San Carlos
Santo Domingo.- The Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (Caasd) began a broad intervention program of the sanitary drainage system in Villas Agrícolas, as part of a comprehensive plan that will also cover the Villa Juana, Villa Consuelo, Villa Francisca and San Carlos sectors, with an initial investment of more than RD 900 million.
The general director of the Caasd, Fellito Suberví, explained that the works respond to historical demands of these communities and are part of the “The Caasd Listens to You” program, through which the institution responds to requests made by residents in Greater Santo Domingo.
"Today the Caasd is responding to that great clamor that these communities have had for years. We are going to comprehensively intervene in the sanitary drainage of these sectors," said Suberví, who also announced the construction and rehabilitation of 11 small aqueducts in different sectors of district three of the National District, by drilling and equipping new wells.
The official began a tour of supervision and start of work through Villas Agrícolas, in the company of the Perremeist deputies Manuel Núñez, Ramón Bueno, and Francisca Jacques, as well as with the president and vice president of the Council of Aldermen of the National District, Jeancarlos Vega and Junior Castillo, among other councilors of that district.
Engineer Suberví reported that the works will be carried out by three contractors, previously awarded through public bidding, while the institution will continue to develop other interventions with brigades and its own resources.
The director of the Caasd explained that the work will be carried out in a phased manner to reduce the impact on traffic and mobility in the communities. "We are working along streets. We finish a section, we close it and continue with the next."
During the launch of the works, Fellito Suberví pointed out that the intervention will not be limited to the health system, but will also include solutions to drinking water supply problems where necessary.
Announces works for Capotillo, Guachupita, Gualey, La Ciénega and Las Cañitas
Among the actions being carried out, the director of the Caasd cited the construction of a cistern and pumping station in Las Cañitas; the rehabilitation of the María Auxiliadora tank, currently in the testing phase; the recovery of the Gualey tank and the conclusion of the drinking water and sanitary drainage works in Guachupita.
Likewise, he announced that in a few weeks the intervention work will begin at the Bonavides lacañada and, later, at the Capotillo lacañada, a work that corresponds to a commitment assumed by President Luis Abinader.
The director of the Caasd highlighted that the intervention in district three constitutes a priority for the institution due to the needs accumulated over the years in that district. He recalled that the Caasd supplies drinking water to more than four million inhabitants of Greater Santo Domingo.

El funcionario empezó un recorrido desupervisióne inicio de los trabajos por Villas Agrícolas, en compañía de los diputados perremeístasManuel Núñez, Ramón Bueno, y Francisca Jacques, así como con el presidente y vicepresidente del Concejo de Regidores del Distrito Nacional,Jeancarlos Vega y Junior Castillo, entre otros ediles de esa demarcación. El ingeniero Suberví informó que las obras serán ejecutadas portres contratistas,previamente adjudicados mediantelicitación pública, mientras que la institución continuará desarrollandootras intervenciones con brigadas y recursos propios. El director de la Caasd explicó que los trabajos se realizaránde forma escalonadapara reducir elimpacto sobre el tránsitoy la movilidad en las comunidades.“Vamos trabajando por calles. Terminamos un tramo, lo cerramos y continuamos con el siguiente”. Durante el lanzamiento de las obras, Fellito Suberví señaló que la intervención no se limitará alsistema sanitario, sino que también incluirá soluciones a problemas de abastecimiento deagua potabledonde sea necesario. Anuncia obras para Capotillo, Guachupita, Gualey, La Ciénega y Las Cañitas Entre las acciones en ejecución, el director de la Caasd citó la construcción de una cisterna y estación de rebombeo enLas Cañitas; la rehabilitación del tanque deMaría Auxiliadora, actualmente en fase de pruebas; la recuperación del tanque deGualeyy la conclusión de los trabajos de agua potable y drenaje sanitario enGuachupita. Asimismo, adelantó que en unas semanas comenzarán los trabajos de intervención de lacañada Bonavidesy, posteriormente, los de lacañada de Capotillo, obra que corresponde a uncompromiso asumido por el presidente Luis Abinader. El director de la Caasd destacó que la intervención en la circunscripción tres constituye unaprioridadpara la institución debido a lasnecesidades acumuladasdurante años en esa demarcación. Recordó que la Caasd suministra agua potable amás de cuatro millones de habitantes del Gran Santo Domingo.
