MINISTER MAELE TO OFFICIALLY LAUNCH TLOKWENG COLLEGE OF EDUCATION'S 4QTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS The Minister of Higher Education, Honourable Prince Maele, will officially launch the Tlokweng College of Education (TKCE) 40 years' anniversary Celebrations on Friday, 26th The launch event will take place at the TKCE Hall from 10:30 hours and marks the beginning of a series of activities leading up to the main anniversary celebrations scheduled for November 2026. As part of the programme, Honourable Maele will unveil the College's commemorative 40 years Anniversary logo and officially introduce the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and the Anniversary Patron, who will spearhead preparations for the upcoming landmark celebration. The early launch of the anniversary programme is intended to create awareness, mobilise support, and encourage participation from key stakeholders, including alumni, students, staff, development partners, community leaders, and the broader public. It will also provide c,3dequate time for engagement in the various activities planned ahead of the main celebrations in November 2026. Established in 1985 as Tlokweng Teacher Training College, the institution initially offered the Primary Teachers' Course (PTC). Today, TKCE is mandated to transform teacher education through the provision of accessible, inclusive, and high-quality training aimed at developing skilled, innovative, and globally competitive primary school teachers. The 40 years Anniversary Celebrations provide an opportunity to reflect on the College's rich history, celebrate its achievements, honour its alumni and partners, and reaffirm its commitment to shaping the future of teacher education in Botswana.
