Presidente Abinader entrega el techado del Club Deportivo 30 de Mayo
Santo Domingo.–President Luis Abinader, accompanied by the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, handed over this Sunday the roof of the 30 de Mayo Sports Club, making a work that has been awaited for five decades by that community a reality.
During the event, Minister Kelvin Cruz reported that the Ministry of Sports is currently working on the construction and renovation of 12 sports roofs, of which seven will be delivered in the coming days.
Minister Cruz stated that each field and each club recovered represents an investment in the future of Dominican youth. “Each field and each club that we recover represents an investment in the future of our young people and in the strengthening of our communities.”
Likewise, he said that these works demonstrate that the current management not only promotes large infrastructure projects, but also prioritizes spaces that directly impact the lives of the communities.
The delivery of the infrastructure represents the fulfillment of the commitment assumed by Minister Cruz, who began the recovery work in August 2025, giving way to a renovated sports facility prepared for the development of multiple disciplines.
Cruz highlighted that sport is an essential tool for social development, because it promotes values, discipline and well-being, while providing youth with opportunities to grow with a positive mindset and focused on achieving their goals.

For his part, the president of the 30 de Mayo Sports Club, Pedro Julio Jones, expressed that the community waited for half a century for the construction of the roof and thanked President Luis Abinader for making a work come true that will benefit the youth and all residents of the sector.
The community leader recalled that the facility belongs to the entire community, so he urged his neighbors to take care of it and preserve it in the best conditions.
