Syria opens consular office in Deir Ezzor to expand public services
Deir Ezzor, June 28 (SANA)Syria’sMinistry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriateson Sunday opened a new consular office inDeir Ezzorto provide consular services to residents of the province and the wider eastern region.The office was inaugurated by Deir Ezzor GovernorZiad al-Ayeshand Mohammed al-Omar, director of the ministry’s Consular Affairs Directorate.
Al-Ayesh said the new office reflects the state’s efforts to improve public services, reduce the time and effort required for citizens to access official procedures, and strengthen the presence of public institutions in the province.
He described the opening as the beginning of additional development projects aimed at improving public services and supporting the province’s economic and social recovery.
Speaking to SANA, Al-Omar said that the office represents an important step in bringing government services closer to citizens and restoring the role of state institutions. He added that it reflects the ministry’s commitment to providing efficient and accessible consular services.
He added that the office is expected to process around 1,500 transactions a day, reducing the need for residents of the eastern region to travel long distances to obtain consular services.
The opening is part of the Foreign Ministry’s broader efforts to modernize consular services through greater efficiency, transparency, and digital transformation while expanding access to government services across Syria’s eastern provinces.
