Israeli occupation forces advance into Yarmouk Basin in Daraa countryside
Daraa, June 28 (SANA)Israeli occupation forceson Saturday advanced into the town ofMaariyain the Yarmouk Basin area of westernDaraa provincein southern Syria, reaching the village of Abidin and Tal al-Maghar.
SANA’s reporter in the province said a force comprising four military vehicles moved from al-Jazeera barracks toward Maariya before advancing to Abidin village and later heading to the Tal al-Maghar area. He added that the force set up tents nearTal al-Maghar in Abidin villageand opened fire toward surrounding agricultural land.
The latest incursion came a day after eight Israeli military vehicles entered thetown of Jamla, where the forces deployed across several neighborhoods and searched a number of civilian homes.
Israel continues to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria and attacks on civilians, including raids, arrests, land bulldozing and shelling.
Syria reiterates that all measures taken by the Israeli occupation forces on Syrian territory are null and void and have no legal effect under international law. It renewed its call on the international community to assume its responsibilities, put an end to these violations and ensureIsrael’s full withdrawal from southern Syria.
