Egyptian, Saudi and Qatari foreign ministers discuss regional developments

Cairo, June 28 (SANA)Egyptian Foreign MinisterBadr Abdelattyheld talks on Sunday with his Saudi and Qatari counterparts on regional developments, including negotiations between the United States and Iran, and ways to strengthen regional security and stability.

According to Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty spoke with Saudi Foreign MinisterPrince Faisal bin Farhanand Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister SheikhMohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

The ministers stressed the importance of building on the current diplomatic track following the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran and ensuring the continued implementation of its provisions to help reduce tensions and promote regional stability.

They also underscored the need to safeguard freedom of navigation throughthe Strait of Hormuzin accordance with international law and avoid unilateral measures that could disrupt international shipping or global trade.

The ministers reaffirmed that the security of theGulf statesis an integral part of Arab national security.

They also discussed developments in Palestine and Lebanon and welcomed the framework agreement reached underU.S.sponsorship, expressing support for its full implementation to enhance Lebanon’s security, stability and sovereignty.

The ministers further called for a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon and an end to Israeli attacks.

On Saturday, Abdelatty held a phone call with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss regional developments and efforts to promote peace in the region.
