Statement from Minister McEntee regarding the framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel - 27/06/2026

I welcome the framework agreement reached between Lebanon and Israel, facilitated by the United States.

I hope this first step can lead to an end to hostilities by all sides, enable access for much-needed humanitarian assistance, and pave the way to a lasting peace.

Hezbollah must cease its attacks on Israel and commit to disarm. Israel must cease its military operations and withdraw from Southern Lebanon.

There must be full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon and the role of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

The people of Lebanon alone must be allowed to determine the future of their country.
