Syria approves fuel price cuts of up to 20%

Damascus, June 27 (SANA)Energy Minister Mohammad al-Bashiron Saturday approved recommendations by thePermanent Committee for Pricing Petroleum Products and Mineral Resourcesto reduce fuel prices across a range of 14% to 20%, following a review of technical and economic indicators affecting the petroleum market.

In a post on X, al-Bashir said the new petroleum products price schedule was adopted based on the committee’s recommendations, which are prepared through detailed technical and economic assessments to ensure balanced decisions that support market stability, maintain the sustainable supply of fuel products and safeguard citizens’ interests.

He said the ministry is pursuing an institutional approach based on transparency, periodic reviews and decision-making grounded in scientific and economic principles to serve both the country and its citizens.
