Segundo equipo de rescatistas sale a Venezuela y se da envío de 17 toneladas de provisiones
A total of 50 rescuers and 2 canine units left this Saturday, June 27, for Venezuela, to join the first team that joined the immediate search operation for people who are still missing among the rubble resulting from the earthquake that occurred in the South American nation.
Likewise, after a day of collecting supplies carried out by the Office of the First Lady, in Parque Omar, where the Panamanian people and residents of different nationalities contributed belongings and food, the first 17 tons of provisions were sent, containers that will be sent by sea.
Other collections will be packed and shipped by air. For this same Saturday, the authorities of the Agricultural Marketing Institute mobilized cargo vans to the port to transport donations to Venezuela. Likewise, the search for additional warehouses is underway, taking into account the generous collaboration with donations, which is why the Collection Center has suspended receptions until the collection is organized and dispatched.
However, the logistics chain continues in the Humanitarian Hub where donations collected at the Collection Centers continue to be received. They are organized in pallets to be sent on outgoing flights, which allows us to achieve new space to receive new contributions.
For this work, many State entities have served as collaborators, including cadets from the National Police, as well as motorists from the Directorate of Transit Operations who have escorted the trucks with aid to the Panama Pacifico airport.
On Friday, June 26, the first team arrived at the Maiquetía airport, Venezuela, to be registered at the United Nations RDC Reception and Departure Center at the Airport and immediately join the search and rescue team; Last night, likewise, the Consulate in Venezuela made arrangements to pick up 34 people who arrived in Valencia via COPA on a commercial flight.
This first group of rescuers arrived after 11 p.m. at the Simón Bolívar international airport of Maiquetía where they were received by the consul of Panama in Venezuela, Susana Thornhill.
Other entities such as the Ministry of Public Security also developed collection days for essential items such as toilet paper, non-perishable food, bottled water, personal hygiene products, clothing and other essential supplies.
Of the total personnel that traveled to support, the National Aeronaval Service assigned 09 units of the Search and Rescue Department, personnel with search and rescue capacity and training in collapsed structures and 01 rescue paramedic.
It is highlighted that the AN-255 C212 AVIOCAR aircraft and its crew remain at the Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetía, in support of the humanitarian aid mission, an aircraft that has twenty-five (25) hours of flight at the disposal of the Venezuelan State, intended for humanitarian logistical support, transportation of essential supplies, rescuers and other operational capabilities required in the face of the ongoing emergency situation.

Un total de 50 rescatistas y 2 unidades caninas partieron este sábado, 27 de junio, hacia Venezuela, para sumarse al primer equipo que se incorporó a la operación de búsqueda inmediata de personas que aún permanecen desaparecidas entre escombros producto de terremoto ocurrido en la nación sudamericana. Igualmente, tras una jornada de acopio de provisiones realizada por el Despacho de la Primera Dama, en el Parque Omar, donde el pueblo panameño y residentes de diferentes nacionalidades aportaron enseres y comida, se envían las primeras 17 toneladas de provisiones, contenedores que serán enviados por vía marítima. Otras de las recolecciones, se empacarán y enviarán vía aérea. Para este mismo sábado las autoridades del Instituto de Mercadeo Agropecuario movilizaron furgones de carga al puerto para el traslado de donaciones hacia Venezuela. Asimismo, se está en la búsqueda de bodegas adicionales, tomando en cuenta la desprendida colaboración con donaciones, motivo por lo cual el Centro de Acopio haya suspendido las recepciones hasta organizar y despachar lo recolectado. No obstante, la cadena logística continua en el Hub Humanitario donde se sigue recibiendo las donaciones recaudadas en los Centros de Acopio, en este se organizan en pallets para ser remitidos en los vuelos salientes, lo que nos posibilita el lograr nuevo espacio para poder recibir nuevos aportes. Para esta labor, muchas entidades del Estado han servido como colaboradores, entre ellos cadetes de la Policía Nacional, así como motorizados de la Dirección de Operaciones del Tránsito que han escoltado los camiones con ayuda hacían el aeropuerto de Panamá Pacífico. El viernes, 26 de junio, arribó al aeropuerto de Maiquetía, Venezuela, el primer equipo que fue registrado en el RDC Reception and Departure Center de Naciones Unidas en el Aeropuerto quienes se incorporan inmediatamente al equipo de búsqueda y rescate; la noche de ayer, igualmente, el Consulado en Venezuela hizo las coordinaciones para recoger a 34 personas que llegaron a Valencia vía COPA en vuelo Comercial. Este primer grupo de rescatistas llegó pasadas las 11 de la noche al aeropuerto internacional de Maiquetía Simón Bolívar donde fueron recibidos por la cónsul de Panamá en Venezuela, Susana Thornhill. Otras entidades como el Ministerio de Seguridad Pública también desarrollaron jornadas de recolección de artículos de primera necesidad como papel higiénico, alimentos no perecederos, agua embotellada, productos de higiene personal, ropa y otros insumos esenciales. Del total de personal que viajó al apoyo, el Servicio Nacional Aeronaval asignó a 09 unidades del Departamento de Búsqueda y Recate, personal con capacidad y entrenamiento de búsqueda y rescate en estructuras colapsadas y 01 paramédico de rescate. Se destaca que la aeronave AN-255 C212 AVIOCAR y su tripulación se mantiene Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetía Simón Bolívar, en apoyo a la misión de ayuda humanitaria, aeronave que cuenta con veinticinco (25) horas de vuelo a disposición del Estado venezolano, destinadas al apoyo logístico humanitario, transporte de insumos de primera necesidad, rescatistas y demás capacidades operativas requeridas ante la situación de emergencia que se mantiene.
