New York, June 27 (SANA)ThePermanent Mission of Syriato theUnited Nationsin New York, in cooperation with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism and theEuropean Union, organized a first-of-its-kind event titled “From an Inherited Threat to National Leadership: New Syria’s approach to combating ISIS” at UN Headquarters in New York.

The event was attended by commander of the General Intelligence apparatus, Hussein al-Salama, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Counter-Terrorism, and the European Union Special Envoy for Counter-Terrorism, alongside broad participation from ambassadors and representatives of member states accredited to the United Nations.
