Egypt draws with Iran to reach Round 32 alongside Belgium in World Cup
Seattle, June 27 (SANA)–Egyptdrew 1-1 withIranearly Saturday in Seattle, the United States, in the third and final round of the group stage at the2026 FIFA World Cup.
Mahmoud Saber gave Egypt the lead in the fifth minute, before Ramin Rezaeian equalized for Iran in the 14th.
The result confirmed Egypt’s qualification for the Round of 32 as Group G runners-up behind leaders Belgium.
The match was evenly contested, with both sides sharing possession and creating chances throughout the two halves. Each team managed to find the net once, and the points were shared.
Both teams pushed for a late winner in the closing minutes, but solid defending and strong performances from the two goalkeepers prevented any change to the score as the match ended 1-1.
