Director del Inapa supervisa alcantarillado sanitario de Mao
Valverde.- The executive director of the National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewers (Inapa), Wellington Arnaud, inspected the work on the sanitary sewerage of Mao, Valverde province, and announced that they will deliver the work at the end of this year.
Arnaud verified that the wastewater treatment plant is 80% advanced.
"We will soon be finishing this important project. This type of work is the result of vision, leadership and constant monitoring," said Arnaud.
Among the communities that will be impacted by this project is the urban area: Villa Olímpica, San Antonio, María Auxiliadora, Motocross, Los Cayucos, Cerro Marino, Carlos Daniel, Los Cajuiles, La Mina, De Pericle, Sibila, Barrio Militar, Las 300, La 40, El Rincón, El Samán, Copellito and Enriquillo (Los Camarones).
The official reiterated the commitment of the Government headed by President Luis Abinader, who has kept his word to bring health and quality of life to the people.
"We appreciate the patience that the population has had. This is a magnificent work that many municipalities would like to have and soon the municipality of Mao will have it, because the development is built underground," he said.
The work includes a wastewater treatment plant with modern technology, collection lines, a pumping station, home connections, inspection records, as well as coverage with an asphalt layer.
He recalled that before this type of work was not a priority because the pipes go underground and cannot be seen, but they are felt in people's health.
The executive director of Inapa stressed the importance of planning when developing works of this nature, for which the country has received recognition from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) as a reference for sanitation in the region and the world.
During his tour, the official was accompanied by Mayor Yohendi Jiménez.

El funcionario reiteró el compromiso del Gobierno encabezado por elpresidente Luis Abinader,quien ha cumplido su palabra de llevarsalud y calidad de vidaa la gente. “Agradecemos la paciencia que ha tenido la población. Esta es una obra magnífica que muchos municipios quisieran tener y ya pronto el municipio de Mao la tendrá, porque el desarrollo se construye debajo de la tierra”,dijo. La obra contempla una planta de tratamiento de aguasresiduales con tecnología moderna,líneas colectoras, una estación de bombeo, acometidas domiciliarias, registros de inspección, así como cubrimiento con capa asfáltica. Recordó que antes este tipo de obras no eran una prioridad porque las tuberías van por debajo de la tierra y no se ven, perose sienten en la salud de la gente. El director ejecutivo del Inapa recalcó la importancia de la planificación a la hora de desarrollar obras de esta naturaleza, por lo cual el país ha recibido el reconocimiento delBanco Interamericano de Desarrollo(BID) comoreferente de saneamientoen la región y el mundo. Durante su recorrido, el funcionario estuvo acompañado del alcaldeYohendi Jiménez.
