Caracas, June 26 (SANA)Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs Yván Gil expressed his country’s appreciation to Syria for itsmessage of solidarityand condolences following the devastating earthquakes that recently struck Venezuela.

In a post on X on Friday, Minster Gil said: “Venezuela thanks the Syrian Arab Republic for its condolences and kind wishes to our country as we confront this tragic situation.”

Earlier on Thursday, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates extended its deepest condolences to the Venezuelan government and people following the devastating earthquakes, which caused deaths, injuries and widespread material damage in several parts of the country.

Two back-to-back 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes struck Venezuela on Wednesday, centered in Yaracuy state, have triggered widespread infrastructure collapse and blackouts across north-central Venezuela. With hundreds confirmed dead and thousands more injured, a state of emergency remains active as international aid offers continue to pour into the country.
