Los Angeles, June 26 (SANA)Türkiye scored a stoppage-time winner to beat the United States 3-2 on Thursday, but the Americans still advanced to the Round of 32after finishing top of Group D at the2026 FIFA World Cup.

The United States took an early lead through Auston Trusty in the third minute before Arda Güler equalized for Türkiye seven minutes later. Orkun Kökçü put Türkiye ahead in the 31st minute, but Sebastian Berhalter restored parity for the hosts shortly after halftime.

With the match seemingly headed for a draw, Kaan Ayhan struck deep into stoppage time, scoring in the eighth minute of added time to secure all three points forTürkiye.

In the group’s other match,AustraliaandParaguayplayed to a goalless draw at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Despite the defeat, theUnited Statestopped Group D with six points to qualify for the knockout stage. Australia finished second with four points, edging Paraguay on the same total, while Türkiye ended the group in fourth place with three points.
