‘Lake Lucerne Summit’ kicks off with U.S., Iran, Qatar and Pakistan participation

Doha, June 21 (SANA)The “Lake Lucerne Summit,” a high-level meeting involvingQatar, the United States, Iran and Pakistan, has kicked off as part of a mediation framework involving regional and international stakeholders.

According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, adviser to the Prime Minister and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the talks aim to advance efforts toward a comprehensive agreement addressing the terms of a memorandum of understanding betweenWashingtonand Tehran.

He added that the process includes the formation of technical and specialized working groups to negotiate the details of a final agreement, along with follow-up mechanisms to monitor implementation and track progress.

Al Ansari said Qatar, in coordination with Pakistan, will continue efforts to support dialogue and create a conducive environment for negotiations, stressing the importance of diplomacy in resolving disputes.

The meeting is part of a broader diplomatic track addressing several regional issues, including Iran’s nuclear program, a ceasefire in Lebanon, and maritime security inthe Strait of Hormuz.

The United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding on June 18, brokered by Pakistan, covering outstanding issues including a ceasefire framework and maritime security arrangements in theGulf.
