Sweida Governor calls on residents to return to their villages

Sweida, June 20 (SANA)SweidaGovernorMustafa al-Bakourcalled on residents of the province’s western and northern countryside to return to their villages and resume their normal lives.

In a message addressed to residents through his Telegram channel on Saturday, al-Bakour affirmed that the governorate is fully prepared to receive returning residents and provide all necessary support through committees formed by local communities, headed by the mayor and comprising representatives of local social bodies and community figures.

He explained that the committees’ responsibilities include organizing a dignified, safe, and orderly return, assessing the initial needs of each family, restoring basic services in villages, and following up on the condition of agricultural lands.

“We hear every day about the hardships and difficult circumstances you are enduring, and we fully understand the pain of being away from your homes and lands that you spent years building and cultivating,” al-Bakour said.

“We assure you, with complete sincerity and responsibility, that we are ready to welcome you back to your villages, where we have always been, and will remain, guests of their rightful inhabitants. Your return is a natural right that no one can dispute,” he added.

The governor concluded by saying: “Your homes and lands long for your return. They stand as witnesses to your years of hard work and dedication, and the countryside will not regain its true character until you come back.”

Al-Bakour reaffirmed the governorate’s commitment to standing alongside residents until normal life is restored in every village, home, and agricultural field.
