Today I have welcomed my sister, the President of the Republic of Namibia, the Honorable Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who arrived in the country for a national visit, being his second visit after the visit he made in May 2025. For him, Tanzania is home, as he lived here in 1980 to 1986, participating in the movement to fight for the independence of Namibia.
Despite the greatness of our history, our economic cooperation is limited. On that basis, we have agreed to promote cooperation in strategic areas including trade and investment, blue economy, food security, defense, aviation, as well as energy, oil and gas. To begin with, our countries have signed four cooperation agreements, so I urge businessmen from all sides to take advantage of these opportunities.
In addition, I give an opinion to the executives of our countries at all levels to ensure that everything we agreed upon today, and during the previous visit, is implemented on time to shape the development of our countries and the well-being of all citizens.

Leo nimemkaribisha nchini Dada yangu, Rais wa Jamhuri ya Namibia, Mheshimiwa Dkt. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, aliyefika nchini kwa ziara ya kitaifa, ikiwa ni ziara yake ya pili baada ya ziara aliyofanya Mei 2025. Kwake, Tanzania ni nyumbani, kwani aliishi hapa mwaka 1980 hadi 1986, akishiriki harakati za kupigania uhuru wa Namibia. Licha ya ukubwa wa historia yetu, ushirikiano wetu wa kiuchumi ni mdogo. Kwa msingi huo tumekubaliana kukuza ushirikiano katika maeneo ya kimkakati ikiwemo biashara na uwekezaji, uchumi wa buluu, usalama wa chakula, ulinzi, usafiri wa anga, pamoja na nishati, mafuta na gesi. Kwa kuanza, nchi zetu zimesaini hati nne za makubaliano ya ushirikiano, hivyo ninawasihi wafanyabiashara kutoka pande zote kuchangamkia fursa hizo. Aidha, ninatoa rai kwa watendaji wa nchi zetu katika ngazi zote kuhakikisha yote tuliyokubaliana leo, na wakati wa ziara iliyopita, yanatekelezwa kwa wakati ili kuchagiza maendeleo ya nchi zetu na ustawi wa wananchi wote.
