The government wants to work with public and private partners to create a future-proof energy supply. With this goal in mind, a Strategic Energy Roundtable under the theme 'Energy security, investments and strategic cooperation for the future of Suriname' was held at the Office of the President on Friday, June 19. The round table should result in, among other things, a National Energy Roadmap 2026–2035, in which concrete choices are made for investments, legislation and implementation. The roundtable is a precursor to the energy conference that will take place later this year.

De regering wil samen met publieke en private partners werk maken van een toekomstbestendige energievoorziening. Met dit doel voor ogen werd op vrijdag 19 juni een Strategische Energierondetafel onder het thema ‘Energiezekerheid, investeringen en strategische samenwerking voor de toekomst van Suriname’ gehouden op het Kabinet van de President. De rondetafel moet uitmonden in onder andere een Nationale Energie Roadmap 2026–2035, waarin concrete keuzes worden gemaakt voor investeringen, wetgeving en uitvoering.
