Edesur eleva capacidad de suministro con puesta en operación de transformador de potencia en Subestación Eléctrica Yaguate, San Cristóbal
San Cristóbal.- Edesur Dominicana increased the capacity of the electricity service with the commissioning of a higher power transformer at the Yaguate Electrical Substation, San Cristóbal, where it invested some RD 25.3 million, in order to meet the growing energy demand and improve the quality of supply to its customers.
The installed capacity was increased from 18.5 to 28 megavolt amperes (MVA), which will allow greater operational flexibility to face contingencies and future system expansions.
The electrical infrastructure will continue to operate at levels of 69 kilovolts (kV) in high voltage and 12.5 kV in medium voltage.
With these works, almost 26,000 users residing in the center of town, Los Rieles, Caoba, Los Haitises, Doña Ana, El Corte, Boca de Mana, Las Lagunas, Semana Santa, Pajarito, Cabría Abajo, La Loma and La Jagua will benefit.
Likewise, the repowering impacts the inhabitants of Najayo, Miracielo, Duveaux, Ingenio Nuevo, Los Yagrumos, Palenque, Niza and other areas.
The electrical substation registered a demand that exceeded 95% of its operating capacity, a situation that increased the risk of overload in times of high energy demand.
This operational strengthening will allow Edesur to strengthen the reliability of its network and offer its clients a more stable, secure and higher quality service.

Este fortalecimiento operativo permitirá a Edesur robustecer laconfiabilidad de su redy ofrecer a sus clientes unservicio más estable, seguro y de mayor calidad.
