Damascus, June 19 (SANA)Two people were killed and 22 others injured in traffic accidents and fires across Syria over the past 24 hours,the Syrian Civil Defensesaid on Friday.

Civil Defense teams responded to 19 traffic accidents that left two people dead and 18 others injured. The injured received first aid and were transferred to hospitals for treatment.

The teams also responded to 220 fires, including 19 in agricultural fields and crops. Four people, including two firefighters and two civilians, were injured, while the remaining incidents caused material damage only.

The Civil Defense renewed calls for motorists to follow safety measures and urged the public to avoid practices that could trigger fires, particularly near forests and agricultural land.F.J./ABD
