Syria, Türkiye sign health cooperation agreement as ties deepen

Damascus, June 19 (SANA)Syria andTürkiyesigned a memorandum of understanding on health cooperation on Friday, marking a further step in the development of bilateral relations and supporting efforts to rehabilitate Syria’s healthcare sector after years of war.

The memorandum was signed in Damascus by Syrian Health MinisterMusab al-Aliand Turkish Health MinisterKemal Memişoğluduring an official meeting focused on expanding cooperation in the medical and public health fields.

The agreement is expected to enhance coordination between the two countries in healthcare services, medical training, hospital development, and the exchange of expertise, asSyriaseeks to rebuild infrastructure damaged during more than a decade of war.

The agreement comes as Syria continues to implement plans aimed at rehabilitating hospitals, medical centers, and health facilities affected by years of conflict, while addressing shortages in equipment, medicines, and specialized medical personnel.

Health sector recovery remains a key component of the country’s broader reconstruction efforts, with authorities seeking to restore services and improve access to healthcare across Syria.ABD
