Beirut, June 19 (SANA)Several people were killed and others wounded in a wave ofIsraeli airstrikesand artillery shelling that hit multiple towns and villages in southernLebanonovernight and into Friday morning, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported.

According to NNA, the strikes targeted the towns of Sharqiya, Harouf, Kfarsir, Kfarjouz, Nabatieh al-Fawqa and surrounding areas in the Nabatieh district, damaging residential buildings and homes and killing and injuring several people.

Israeli warplanesalso carried out strikes on the city of Nabatieh, the towns of Kfartebnit and Nabatieh al-Fawqa, and the Rihan Heights, while artillery fire struck residential neighborhoods in Nabatieh and nearby communities, the agency said.

Additional strikes hit areas of Kfarjouz, the Universities district of Nabatieh and the Baydar neighborhood in Harouf, as well as locations between Sharqiya and Doueir. The attacks caused fatalities and destroyed a number of homes, according to the report.

The towns of Kfarsir, Qsaybeh, Kfardjal, Jibchit and Toul were also subjected to airstrikes and artillery shelling that continued until dawn, resulting in further casualties and extensive property damage, NNA reported.On Wednesday, three people were killed and others wounded in Israeli shelling in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese authorities.Lebanon’s Health Ministrysays that 3,912 people have been killed and 11,873 injured in Israeli attacks since March.
