Gobierno inicia construcción del techado multiuso de Matanzas, en Peravia
Matanzas, Peravia.- The Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, led the start of work for the construction of the multipurpose roof of the Matanzas Club, in this municipality of the Peravia province.
Cruz was accompanied by sports and provincial authorities at the first strike ceremony.
The construction of the multipurpose facility will entail an investment of RD 28,166,680.06, corresponding to funds recovered from corruption, which President Luis Abinadero ordered to invest in sports.
The work is also part of the program carried out by the Ministry of Sports to build roofs in the country's municipalities that do not yet have this type of installation.
Cruz highlighted President Abinader's decision to provide communities with sports facilities that encourage youth and encourage social cohesion.
“Without a doubt, President Luis Abinader has his ear to the hearts of the people and knows that a model municipality like Matanzas, with good activities, great events, could not be on the black list of municipalities that do not have a multi-use roof,” said Minister Kelvin Cruz.
The civil and provincial governor of Peravia, Ángela Yadira Báez, as well as the mayor of Matanzas, Raúl Batista Mordán, thanked Minister Kelvin Cruz for the start of this work.
Also present at the event were deputies Carmen Leyda Scarfullery, Luis Báez, and vice ministers Leopoldo Porte Soler and Samuel Taveras.
The intervention will extend for approximately 1,000 square meters, including construction of roofing, fences and sidewalks, perimeter areas, earthworks, and construction of concrete bases and floors, as well as locker rooms and bathrooms for athletes.
Likewise, the placement of a synthetic floor, two supports and professional boards certified by FIBA, placement of a blackboard and digital clock, electrical installations in general and bathrooms for the public.

La intervención se extenderá por unos1,000 metros cuadradosque incluyen construcción de techado, verja y acera, áreas perimetrales, movimiento de tierra y construcción de bases y piso en hormigón, así como de vestidores y baños para los deportistas. Asimismo, la colocación de piso sintético, dos soportes y tableros profesionales certificados por la FIBA, colocación de pizarra y reloj digitales, instalaciones eléctricas en general y baños para el público.
