Edeeste ilumina principal acceso a Higüey con inversión superior a RD 8.2 millones
Higüey.– The Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (Edeeste) reported on the conclusion of the lighting works on the Higüey-Yuma highway, thereby reaffirming its commitment to citizen safety, urban development and the well-being of the communities within its concession area.
Edeeste stated that this work was carried out in response to requests made by community representatives, productive sectors and citizens during the days of the "Government with You" program, an initiative headed by President Luis Abinader to directly address the priority needs of the population.
In that sense, by highlighting that this is one of the main access roads to the municipality of Higüey, the electricity company indicated that the project had a total investment of RD 8,268,750.00.
Likewise, he explained that the works covered the section from the Higüey Mural Roundabout to the intersection with the Autovía del Este, to significantly improve visibility and safety conditions for thousands of drivers and pedestrians who travel daily along this important road.
The distributor stated that 126 new poles with their respective LED-type luminaires were installed, in addition to deploying nearly five kilometers of electrical networks to guarantee the efficient operation of the lighting system.
He also added that other existing lights in the road corridor were included and the area currently has more than 130 operational lights, which strengthens the lighting of one of the main accesses to the province of La Altagracia. In addition, there was the assembly of 130 structures, 139 excavations, the placement of 0.16 kilometers of medium voltage lines, 5 kilometers of BT conductor lines and 5 transformers.
Edeeste stressed that this intervention contributes to reducing the risk of traffic accidents, improving the perception of safety during nighttime hours and strengthening the image of Higüey as one of the main tourist and religious destinations in the country.
The new lighting has been received with satisfaction by residents, merchants and visitors, who value the positive impact of the work on the mobility and safety of those who daily use this strategic connection between the city of Higüey and the national road network.
Finally, Edeeste reiterated that it will continue developing electrical infrastructure and public lighting projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the population and supporting the economic and social growth of the communities that make up its service area.

La distribuidora externó que, fueron instalados126 nuevos postescon sus respectivasluminarias tipo led, además de desplegar cerca decinco kilómetros de redes eléctricaspara garantizar el funcionamiento eficiente del sistema de alumbrado. También, agregó que se incluyeron otras luminarias existentes en el corredor vial y la zona cuenta actualmente conmás de 130 luminarias operativas, lo cual fortalece la iluminación de uno de los principales accesos a la provincia La Altagracia. Además, se contó con el armado de 130 estructuras, 139 excavaciones, la colocación de 0.16 kilómetros de tendido de media tensión, 5 kilómetros de tendido de conductor BT y 5 transformadores. Edeeste subrayó que esta intervención contribuye areducir riesgos de accidentes de tránsito, mejorar la percepción de seguridad durante las horas nocturnas y fortalecer laimagen de Higüeycomouno de los principales destinos turísticos y religiososdel país. La nueva iluminación ha sido recibida con satisfacción por residentes, comerciantes y visitantes, quienes valoran elimpacto positivo de la obra en la movilidad y la seguridadde quienes utilizan diariamente esta estratégica conexión entre la ciudad de Higüey y la red vial nacional.
