Presidente Abinader entrega 2,322 títulos de propiedad en Domingo Savio para beneficiar a más de 9,000 personas; garantiza seguridad jurídica y mayores oportunidades de desarrollo para sus familias
Santo Domingo.-President Luis Abinader led the delivery of 2,322 property titles to families from the Gualey, María Auxiliadora and 27 de Febrero sectors, as part of the Domingo Savio titling project, an initiative that seeks to guarantee legal security and improve the living conditions of thousands of residents of the National District.
During the event, held at the Domingo Savio Sports Center, the head of state reported that, with this new delivery, there are 5,822 titles granted in this project, directly benefiting the same number of families and indirectly impacting more than 23,000 people in these communities.
The president highlighted that the titling process represents a transformation for the beneficiaries, turning them into legal owners of their land and increasing the value of their properties. "When you entered through that door, the value of your properties was approximately a certain number. When you leave, your property may be worth double or even triple, because now you have your title."
The governor stated that property titles allow families to access the formal financial system to develop businesses, improve their homes, build new structures and guarantee that this heritage can be inherited by their relatives. He also highlighted that this public policy seeks to provide peace of mind to families who for years occupied land without having the corresponding legal documentation. "The most important thing is that this brings peace and tranquility, because you already know that you have security over what is yours. That is dignity, that is social justice."
President Abinader reported that the Government has delivered around 170,000 property titles throughout the national territory, which has benefited thousands of families, who now have a document that legally supports their assets.
"This is one of the social projects that I enjoy the most because of the impact that the degree has on all of you. It is a project of hope, development and true social justice," the president reiterated.
Duarte Méndez highlights savings of RD 185.7 million for beneficiaries
Also speaking at the event was the executive director of the Technical Execution Unit for State Land Titling (UTECT), Duarte Méndez Peña, who highlighted that with this third delivery in Domingo Savio, another figure of 5,800 benefited families was reached, who now have legal security over their properties.
Méndez Peña explained that on this day 2,322 property titles were delivered, adding to the 3,500 granted in previous deliveries, as part of the commitment assumed to continue impacting the residents of this community. “Today we return for the third time to Domingo Savio to fulfill our promise and continue bringing tranquility, hope and well-being to the families of this community,”l.
The official indicated that the project is moving towards the goal of delivering around 8,000 property titles in the area and highlighted that to date some 23,888 people have been impacted through this titling process. Likewise, he reported that the State intervened a geographical area of 135 square meters to make the delivery of these documents possible and that the process represents an approximate saving of RD 185.7 million for the beneficiaries.
"Today you receive your title without investing a peso. This document represents tranquility, heritage and the security that your families have a right recognized by the Dominican State," said Méndez Peña.
The executive director of the UTECT recognized the joint work of the Real Estate Jurisdiction, National Assets, community leaders and social organizations that accompanied the process.
He also announced that the institution continues to develop new titling projects in different areas of the country, with brigades deployed in 11 provinces, and announced that it is working on a new initiative in the eastern area of Santo Domingo that will benefit thousands of families.
Titling gives peace of mind to benefited families
The blessing of the event was carried out by the priest of the Santa Ana de Gualey Church, Father José Hernando Mendoza, who offered a prayer for the well-being of the benefited families and for the development of the community.
On behalf of the benefited families, Massiel Eugenia Acevedo thanked President Abinader for the delivery of the property titles and highlighted the meaning that this document has for the community. “I come on behalf of the community to thank you for what you have done for each of us: granting us our property title,” she expressed.
Acevedo stated that the titling represents more than a legal document, because it returns tranquility, dignity and security to the benefited homes. “It is giving us back peace of mind, the right to say: this house is mine, this property belongs to me.”
The event was attended by the general director of National Assets, Rafael Burgos Gómez; the general director of the National Cadastre, Héctor Pérez Mirambeaux; the president of the Presidential Commission to Support Neighborhood Development, Rolfi Domingo Rojas Guzmán, and the assistant to the President of the Republic for Special Projects, Víctor Sánchez.
