Syria presents national digital construction framework at CONSTRA TECH in Egypt

Cairo, June 17 (SANA)A delegation from the Syrian Engineers Syndicate, headed by President Malek Haj Ali, participated in CONSTRA TECH 2026 inCairo, where it presented Syria’s national framework for Building Information Modeling (BIM) and highlighted digital solutions to support reconstruction efforts.

The conference, hosted in the Egyptian capital with the participation of more than 1,500 specialists from over 17 countries, focused on the latest developments in construction, digital transformation, smart cities, sustainability, artificial intelligence, digital twins and geographic information systems.

During the event, Hussein Al Khadra, an international BIM expert and adviser to theSyrian Engineers Syndicate, delivered a presentation titled “From Destruction to Smart Cities: Building Information Modeling and the Digital Future of Syria’s Reconstruction.”

The presentation highlighted the role of BIM and digital technologies in reconstruction, infrastructure management and investment planning, emphasizing integrated digital approaches to improve efficiency and decision-making.

The syndicate delegation also took part in the 2026 meeting of heads of Arab engineering bodies held in Cairo on Tuesday, where it distributed copies of the Syrian BIM Framework to participating engineering leaders.

The Syrian BIM Framework is among the first specialized national frameworks in theArab region. It was developed with contributions from experts, academics, public-sector representatives and private engineering firms to support digital transformation and advance engineering and construction practices in line with international standards.

The Syrian Engineers Syndicate is preparing to launch the framework officially at a dedicated conference aimed at supporting digital transformation, reconstruction and the development of Syria’s engineering and construction sector.F.J./ABD
