White House CEQ to Convene Leading Innovators with Promising Permitting Technology

CEQ invites industry to showcase solutions at the inaugural Permitting Innovators Expo.

Today, theCouncil on Environmental Quality, in collaboration with NASA’s Center of Excellence for Collaborative Innovation, opened the attendeeinterest formfor the Permitting Innovators Expo — a full-day event focused on shaping the future of environmental review and permitting through public-private collaboration.

ThePermitting Innovators Expowill take place on July 31, 2026, at the Hilton Arlington Rosslyn The Key. The event will feature high-potential solutions, each with dedicated space to demonstrate their technologies to federal agencies, policymakers, and industry leaders in environmental review and permitting. Event programming will also include plenary and breakout sessions, where speakers will share lessons learned and best practices in modern federal permitting.

“President Trump took decisiveactionto ensure the U.S. applies modern technology to longstanding problems in Federal permitting. Now, the private-sector has the opportunity to play a valuable role in providing solutions,” saidCouncil on Environmental Quality Chairman Katherine Scarlett. “By bringing together innovators and government, the Permitting Innovators Expo will help identify high-potential solutions that can accelerate the delivery of critical infrastructure projects to the American people.”

Top-scoring solutions to be featured at Expo

The Expo will give federal agency staff an opportunity to evaluate all qualified solutions side by side, engage directly with the teams behind them, and assess how technologies could support implementation of thePermitting TechnologyAction Planas part of President Trump’s Memorandum onUpdating Permitting Technology for the 21st Century.

Solutions featured at the Expo will also be included in the Permitting Innovators Solutions Catalog, which will be shared with federal agencies in late 2026.

Earlier this year, CEQ launched the Permitting Innovators Call for Solutions, which invited innovators to submit solutions that could help modernize and accelerate federal environmental reviews and permitting. CEQ will review eligible submissions and invite top-scoring applicants to participate in the Expo.
