Más de 23,000 docentes y técnicos participan en la primera semana de la quinta fase de la Evaluación de Desempeño Docente
Santo Domingo.-The National Governing Commission for the Evaluation of Teacher Performance (EDD) reported that a total of 23,513 teachers and teaching technicians participated during the first week of application of the fifth phase, corresponding to the Professional Performance Exercise (ERP), reaching a coverage greater than 98% of those summoned and evidencing the high level of commitment of educational personnel with this process of professional strengthening and improvement of educational quality.
Between June 9 and 12, 23,846 teachers and teaching technicians from different functions and levels of the pre-university educational system were summoned. Of these, 23,513 satisfactorily completed the process, reflecting broad participation in this key stage of the evaluation.
The National Governing Commission explained that the Professional Performance Exercise phase constitutes one of the fundamental components of the evaluation process, since it allows the collection of objective evidence on knowledge, analytical abilities, professional criteria and competencies associated with the exercise of the educational function.
During this first week, district and regional teaching directors, teachers of initial education and special education in their different modalities, teachers of youth and adult education, library teachers, foreign language teachers, teaching secretaries, national, regional and ICT teaching coordinators, ICT facilitators, school psychologists and psychopedagogue teaching technicians participated, guaranteeing a broad representation of the different functions that make up the teaching career.
The Commission highlighted that one of the most relevant aspects of the process has been the adequate functioning of the technological infrastructure used for the application of the evaluation instruments. Both the orientation sessions and the development of the exercise were carried out normally and in accordance with established procedures.
The Commission explained that the purpose of the Professional Performance Exercise transcends the individual assessment of teaching performance and seeks to generate strategic information to strengthen professional development policies, continuous training and pedagogical support processes in the system. In this sense, the results will allow us to identify institutional strengths, recognize opportunities for improvement and guide decisions based on evidence to continue raising the quality of teaching and student learning.
The results obtained in this stage will be integrated with the evidence collected in stage three, Self-assessment; stage four, the Evaluation by Various Actors, and the sixth stage, in the case of classroom teachers, with the Evaluation of Class Planning and Observation. This integration will allow the construction of a broader, objective and comprehensive assessment of professional performance, providing relevant inputs to strengthen the teaching career.
The Commission added that the calls corresponding to the fifth stage will continue to be developed according to the established calendar, highlighting the commitment of the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps, to the professionalization of educational personnel.
The National Governing Commission is made up of the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (Minerd), the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) and the National Association of Professionals and Technicians of Education (ANPROTED).

La Comisión Nacional Rectoraexplicó que la fase de Ejercicio de Rendimiento Profesional constituye uno de loscomponentes fundamentalesdel proceso evaluativo, ya que permite recopilar evidencias objetivas sobreconocimientos, capacidades analíticas, criterios profesionales y competenciasasociadas al ejercicio de la función educativa. Durante esta primera semana participaron directores docentes distritales y regionales, maestros de educación Inicial y educación especial en sus distintas modalidades, docentes de educación de personas jóvenes y adultas, maestros bibliotecarios, docentes de lenguas extranjeras, secretarios docentes, coordinadores docentes nacionales, regionales y TIC, dinamizadores TIC, psicólogos escolares y técnicos docentes psicopedagogos, garantizando unarepresentación amplia de las distintas funcionesque integran la carrera docente. La Comisión destacó que uno de los aspectos más relevantes del proceso ha sido eladecuado funcionamientode la infraestructura tecnológicautilizada para la aplicación de los instrumentos de evaluación. Tanto las jornadas de orientación como el desarrollo del ejerciciose realizaron con normalidady conforme a los procedimientos establecidos. La Comisión explicó que el propósito del Ejercicio de Rendimiento Profesional trasciende la valoración individual del desempeño docente y procuragenerar información estratégicapara fortalecer las políticas de desarrollo profesional, la formación continua y los procesos de acompañamiento pedagógico en el sistema. En ese sentido, los resultados permitirán identificarfortalezas institucionales, reconocer oportunidades de mejora y orientar decisionesfundamentadas en evidencia para continuar elevando la calidad de la enseñanza y los aprendizajes de los estudiantes. Los resultados obtenidos en esta etapa se integrarán con las evidencias recopiladas en la etapa tres,Autoevaluación; la etapa cuatro, laEvaluación por Diversos Actores,y la etapa sexta, en el caso de los docentes de aula, con laEvaluación de la Planificación y Observación de Clases. Esta integración permitirá construir una valoración másamplia, objetiva e integraldel desempeño profesional, aportando insumos relevantes para fortalecer la carrera docente. La Comisión agregó que las convocatorias correspondientes a la quinta etapa continuarán desarrollándose conforme al calendario establecido, destacando el compromiso del ministro de Educación,Luis Miguel De Camps, con la profesionalización del personal educativo.
