Gobierno fortalece capacidad operativa del Inespre con 30 nuevos camiones para ampliar acceso a alimentos a precios justos
Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Government delivered this Tuesday 30 new trucks to the Price Stabilization Institute (Inespre), raising the number of units recently incorporated into its fleet to 55, as part of the commitment to strengthen its logistics capacity and expand the coverage of mobile warehouses throughout the national territory, allowing the institution to continue serving as a bridge between producers and consumers, reducing intermediation and guaranteeing that food reaches the Dominican population with quality and at fair prices.
During the event, held on the front esplanade of the National Palace, Minister Andrés Bautista García recalled that on April 28, President Luis Abinader delivered a first batch of 25 units, beginning the process of renewing the Inespre vehicle fleet.
Likewise, he explained that the incorporation of the new vehicles will improve the distribution of basic basket products, speeding up their transfer from the production centers to the communities and increasing the frequency of supply.
“This delivery represents a timely action by the Government to bring quality food to every corner of the country, especially to the families who need it most,” said the official.
He pointed out that strengthening the fleet will reduce intermediation costs, protecting both national producers and consumers, so that food reaches Dominican families in better conditions and at more affordable prices.
The minister reported that the incorporation of five refrigerated trucks is still pending, which will complete the planned fleet and will contribute to optimizing the transportation and conservation of perishable products.
Access to essential foods with quality, quantity and fair prices
For his part, the director of Inespre, David Herrera Díaz, highlighted the support received by the institution during the administration of President Luis Abinader and stated that the president has promoted policies aimed at guaranteeing that the population has access to essential foods with quality, quantity and at fair prices.
“Since the arrival of President Luis Abinader to the Government, he understood that people need food on their table and, for this reason, he has given strong support to Inespre and the institutions of the Social Cabinet, to provide food at fair prices, with quality and quantity, and at the same time protect our national producers,” said Herrera Díaz.
The incorporation of these units represents progress in the modernization process of Inespre, allowing it to expand its reach in the communities and strengthen a more efficient distribution chain that benefits both the Dominican countryside and consumers.
The Administrative Minister of the Presidency symbolically handed over the keys to the fleet of vehicles corresponding to the second phase to the director of Inespre, David Herrera.
The delivery ceremony was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency and the deputy director of Inespre, Samuel Toribio.

El ministro informó que aún está pendiente la incorporación decinco camiones refrigerados,los cuales completarán la flotilla prevista y contribuirán aoptimizar el transporte y conservaciónde productos perecederos. La incorporación de estas unidades representa un avance en elproceso de modernizacióndel Inespre, permitiendo ampliar su alcance en las comunidades y fortalecer una cadena de distribuciónmás eficienteque beneficie tanto al campo dominicano como a los consumidores.
