Syria and Germany explore new opportunities for economic cooperation
Damascus, June.15 (SANA)Syria’sMinister of Economy and IndustryNidal al-Shaarexplored with German Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office and Member of Parliament Serap Güler ways to expand economic and bilateral trade relations and develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest in a manner that serves their shared interests.
The meeting, held on Monday at the ministry’s headquarters in Damascus, addressed the promotion of investment and trade partnerships, the opening of new avenues for economic cooperation, and the exchange of views on potential areas of collaboration and mechanisms for activating the role of the private sector in supporting bilateral relations.
The meeting was attended by a delegation comprising representatives of government institutions, business leaders and investors.
The talks come within the framework of efforts to strengthen Syrian-German relations, as a German economic delegation is preparing to visit Syria in early July to explore economic and investment opportunities.
The planned visit was announced during an economic event organized by the German Near and Middle East Association (NUMOV) in Berlin on June 9, attended by representatives of more than 50 German companies, alongside representatives of economic and financial institutions interested in monitoring developments in Syria and exploring opportunities to participate in future projects.
